A - No, the cable to use is a null modem cable or a null modem adapter with an RS-232 cable. Do not use a null modem adapter with a null modem cable. A null modem cable or adapter is configured differently than a standard computer cable. Pins 2 and 3 are crisscrossed on a null modem cable or adapter to allow both "send" and "receive."
