The Canon IPF plugin for Photoshop does not include support for ICC v. 4 profiles and will crash if you try to print with one of these profiles. Some applications like i1Match or ProfileMaker will allow you to change the version for the profiles you build in the preferences. Other applications like the ColorMunki exclusively build ICC v. 4 profiles. In this case you can print through Photoshop to the printer driver and use your ICC v. 4 profiles.
