Born in New York City, based in Southern California, Art Suwansang is a modern day professional with a background in two cultures. Speaking English and Thai, this became the beginning of an international career that has taken him to many major world cities as a photographer.
Beginning his post secondary education at Cal Poly Pomona, in Computer Engineering, his love of photography soon won out as his major area of study and led him to completing his BA degree at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California.
Besides beginning his own business in wedding photography, Art has taught as an adjunct instructor at Brooks Institute, Santa Monica City College and currently at the University of La Verne. He designed and actualized course in digital workflow that is still part of Brooks’ undergraduate curriculum; other courses in his repertoire include basic photography, Lightroom, digital workflow, beginning and advanced Photoshop, Digital Color Theory and his new course in wedding/event photography.
Wedding 64 is a thriving, fast-paced, design-driven, leading-edge wedding photography business, in its eighth year, and growing. Wedding 64 provides international destination service, shooting in places such as Hawaii, Oregon, New York, United Kingdom and Thailand. Customer service is exemplary, the opulent presentation and product, attention to detail, and personal interaction with clients has brought new and repeat business to Wedding 64.
Art’s applied experience in photography has made him a requested lecturer at Chula Lonkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, and a consultant at the Bath Spa University, Bath, United Kingdom. Art’s international workshops in digital workflow and advanced lighting have been hosted by professional photography organizations in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Workshops are more than classroom lectures; Art takes his students on location to shoot, from the model, in a variety of set-ups. These shoots have given Art an opportunity to indulge in his own passion for architectural and fashion photography, experimenting in night lighting techniques and digital manipulation.
