Italy-based international photographer and high-end retoucher. Marianna Santoni is a worldwide acclaimed Photoshop® expert and she has won many top awards both in Italy and abroad.
Since 2002 Marianna Santoni has been working in between art and technology by combining her background in the humanities with high-level technical skills. She is highly respected by her peers and admired by major brands as well as by internationally renowned artists, Marianna Santoni ranks among the figures with the highest reputation in the world.
Marianna Santoni's biography is part of the book by the Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs titled "Merito al femminile" (that is “Women and their credits”) published on 2010, considering Marianna Santoni among the 54 Italian women who have stood out in recent years in their professional fields: from politics to business, from university to research, from sport to communication.
Marianna Santoni has been a university professor in Cultural Heritage Photography degree course at the ISIA of Urbino (Italy) since 2010. She also is a researcher, author, speaker, advisor, beta tester and ambassador for major international photography and digital imaging brands. She has been a speaker for over 14 years and she has held over 100 official training events for Adobe®, Canon®, Nikon®, Hasselblad®, Wacom®, X-Rite Pantone®, National Geographic®, Epson®, HP®, Elinchrom®, Nik Software®, Roland®, Microsoft®.
Adobe® elected her as “Best Adobe Guru” in Italy in 2006.
She is a forensic photography advisor for the Italian Army and Presidency of the Council of Ministers. She also works for the national TV channel appearing on RAI2 as a speaker and photography expert.
As photographer and retoucher she has clients such Gucci®, Sony Music®, Ryan Air®, MSC Crociere®, Aboca® and FIAT®. Marianna’s photography work has been published in several international magazines. As an artist, she also exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2011 during the official side events of the contest.
Marianna Santoni is an Adobe Certified Expert and Adobe Certified Instructor and a member of 4 prestigious and restricted groups of world experts, that is: Wacom Evangelists, X-Rite Coloratti, Canson Ambassadors and Elinchrom Ambassadors.
Marianna Santoni is the author of more than 70 publications of manuals and specialized articles and she wrote the first 2 official Italian Guides for Adobe Lightroom commissioned by Adobe in Italy. From 2009 to 2012 she ran a column called “L’Esperto Risponde “ (“Ask the Expert”) for the Italian daily newspaper La Stampa. In 2018 she has started to work on her next book and other publications for some of the main specialized magazines. She is often appointed as member of the jury in many national and international photography contests including SIPA - Siena International Photo Awards and Wiki Loves Monuments (Wikipedia®).
She has always been committed to the research and the streamlining of cultural reporting. For over 14 years Marianna Santoni and her team have been promoting and spreading culture by organizing or holding more than 100 training events every year: from 2004 to 2017 more than 1.500 training events gathered attendees from 16 different countries all over the world. Many worldwide renowned photographers and artists attend her school every year.
She is very committed as philanthropist as well. Every year she organizes and supports several non-profit events with regards to cultural reporting and fund raising. From 2010 to 2017 over 50 non profit events. She is the owner of her company Marianna Santoni Srl, founded in 2014. She has many partners both in Italy and abroad. Her company is a national centre of excellence for photo and post-production services and it is a leading company in Italy for training about photography and Photoshop for companies, professionals and enthusiasts.
